Regional History Center Liaison

Danielle Spalenka is the Curator of Manuscripts for the Regional History Center and University Archives. She is responsible for collections management and preservation in order to make available the most significant historical records related to the northern Illinois region. She promotes the use of collections via social media, providing archival bibliographic instruction, and providing reference services. She has been working with the NIU library community to develop best practices for born-digital material and provides consultations to area organizations setting up their own archives. Danielle holds a MA-LIS with a specialization in Archival Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in history of Saint Mary’s College (IN).
